This citizens two cents:
Okay, my fellow Americans…by my count we still have THREE of the original articles in our Bill of Rights left for us to cherish, honor, uphold and defend. But, it DOES seem that we haven’t been all that diligent defending the seven that are now, all but, gone. Have we? I wonder how many men and women over the last 250 years have lost their lives or limbs in the defense of these Bill of Rights. I guess we can Google it, sit down and watch the History Channel, or ask our kids about what they learned of this subject in school, while commercial breaks are interrupting our Monday Night Football…next week. Good goddamned thing that Paul Revere and Patrick Henry didn’t have Facebook or HBO. We’d all be drinking tea at Starbucks instead of coffee in our lattes. |
